The people of Sudan are facing a dire situation. UN agencies report that over 750,000 individuals in the war-torn nation are at risk of facing severe food shortages between now and September.

The ongoing conflict has devastated agricultural activities and imports, leading to skyrocketing food prices. The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) has classified Sudan at its highest level, ‘Phase 5’, indicating that more than two people per 10,000 are dying daily due to hunger.

According to the Dutch Clingendael Institute, up to 2.5 million Sudanese could succumb to starvation by September if immediate action is not taken.
