Topic:

“For Every Child: Protecting Children’s Rights in Armed Conflict”

The Convention on the Rights of the Child is the most ratified human rights treaty in history, yet children in conflict zones remain highly vulnerable to violations of their rights. The 2024 Nuremberg Forum addressed the gaps in current legal frameworks designed to protect children during armed conflict, drawing from international and domestic experiences to propose solutions for stronger protections. Experts discussed challenges in prosecuting crimes against children in international courts and explored strategies to improve transitional justice policies.

Held from 10 October, 3 pm CET to 12 October 2024, 3 pm CET, at the historic Courtroom 600 of the Nuremberg Palace of Justice, the event allowed both online and on-site participation.
