Last night, the world heard what Russia tried to hide.On CNN Türk , a Ukrainian mother revealed the truth:
“My daughter Margarita Prokopenko had her name changed to Marina Mironova.
She was adopted by Russian official Sergey Mironov.
Her birthplace was rewritten.
She was issued a Russian passport.
My son Maksym was sent somewhere else in Crimea.
My children are not political chess pieces.”
But here’s what stunned viewers:
👉 Margarita has a sister.
👉 She lives with Darina Repina, one of the seven women in our campaign, who has raised her with love for seven years.
👉 Russia calls Margarita an ‘orphan’. She is NOT.
Russia didn’t “protect” her.
Russia erased her identity, on paper, in records, and in the system.
And this aired exactly as President Zelensky arrived in Türkiye to discuss peace and the return of civilians, POWs, and deported children.
At the Emile Foundation briefing, we made our message impossible to ignore:
“Everyone talks about identifying the children. But the world must identify their families. None of these children are the orphans Russian propaganda claims.”
Let’s be clear:
❌ Changing a child’s name is not care.
❌ Rewriting a birthplace is not protection.
❌ Issuing a foreign passport is not rescue.
This is identity theft.
This is forced adoption.
This is a war crime.
There is no peace while Margarita (Mirana), Maksym, and their sister live in different worlds.
There is no excuse for severing families.
There is no negotiation that can legitimise these crimes.
Children are not bargaining chips.
Children must be brought home.
