DC-Cam’s Community Genocide Memorial, Prey Veng Province

A Community Genocide Memorial recently built by the Documentation Center of Cambodia (DC-Cam) in Prey Veng province. DC-Cam has built the Community Genocide Memorial for over 30 locations in Cambodia’s rural area. They are funded by many including tourists and friends who visited Cambodia and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The site is given to the Community Khmer Rouge Survivors Association where they use it to hold events including the Day of Remembrance on May 20 and it is also space for them to hold a dialogue about the Khmer Rouge history with youth in the village. — Pheng Pong-Rasy 2 July 2021
