A U.S. Federal Judge has ruled that law against female genital mutilation is unconstitutional – prosecutors drop appeal [1]. ‘According to UNICEF, “…data shows that the pace of progress to end FGM remains slow, lagging behind population growth…”'[2]. And the U.S. has just done it’s bit to make sure the pace of progress drops off a cliff.
Though Islamic Tradition holds that Mohammed was born circumcised – and thus exempt from the procedure himself – 23.52% of Islamic females are estimated to have undergone some form of FGM, compared to 1.86% of non-Islamic females [3]. Owing to migration, the practice is increasingly common in the West (Koran 30:30, Dawud 5271).
Numerous peer‑reviewed studies show FGM leads to lifelong physical, sexual, obstetric and psychological damage (see WHO, Lancet). Young Muslim girls that are subjected to this excruciating procedure suffer:
Immediate complications –
- Severe pain – performed without anesthesia, cutting highly innervated tissue.
- Excessive bleeding (hemorrhage) – a major cause of death in girls undergoing FGM.
- Shock – from blood loss and trauma.
- Infection and sepsis – use of unsterile instruments; tetanus and gangrene common.
- Urinary retention – due to swelling and pain.
- Open wounds and tissue damage – sometimes involving the urethra or anus.
- Death – from bleeding, shock, or infection.
Long‑term physical complications –
- Chronic pelvic and genital pain
- Recurrent urinary tract infections and cysts
- Menstrual problems – obstructed flow and painful periods
- Infertility – from pelvic inflammatory disease and scar tissue
- Obstetric complications – prolonged labour, tearing, postpartum haemorrhage, need for caesarean section, and higher infant mortality
- Formation of keloids and neuromas – painful scar tissue growths
- Difficulty urinating or incontinence
Sexual and reproductive effects –
- Reduced sexual desire and pleasure – removal or damage to clitoris and labia
- Dyspareunia – pain during intercourse
- Obstructed penetration – especially after Type III (infibulation)
- Marital and psychological strain – due to pain, fear, and loss of intimacy
Psychological and social consequences –
- Post‑traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Depression and anxiety
- Nightmares and flashbacks
- Low self‑esteem and loss of bodily autonomy
- Social isolation or stigmatization – particularly for those who refuse or oppose FGM
Obstetric risks (WHO 2025 review) –
- Women with FGM are 70 % more likely to experience postpartum hemorrhage.
- 30 % increase in caesarean section rates.
- Increased neonatal death rate – babies born to cut mothers have a higher risk of dying at birth.
Western societies are facilitating the spread and enforcement of Sharia – a barbarous system of law – dedicating days and months to ‘Combat Islamophobia’ while Muslim women endure forced marriage, veiling, FGM, and wife-beating. Once sharia has the ‘upper hand’ politically, that enforcement can extend to stoning for illegal sex.
Whatever happened to the ‘enlightenment’? Why do I even need to post the obvious – how far has Western civilization deteriorated that it’s even necessary?
What next – a return to slavery? That’s also halal according to sharia – so long as the freshly acquired slave isn’t Muslim to start with. Not that converting afterwards will help …
There is a way to stop and even reverse the imposition of Sharia in the West – please read my book and share it with your favourite politician: https://amazon.com/dp/106887600X
