Abstract
This article briefly explores how American Indians can have different experiences of cultural identification as well as loss of culture. This article provides a brief overview of historical trauma, its effects and possible outcomes in different families. Concepts from social construction and life course theory are utilized to help mark how different pathways result from seemingly common experiences of cultural oppression.
