In Sub-Saharan hashtag#Africa, 1 in 3 pregnancies is unintended, and for many women and girls, this sets off a chain reaction of preventable harm:

✅77% of abortions in the region are unsafe, putting countless lives at risk.
✅Maternal mortality remains high, with 545 hashtag#deaths per 100,000 live births—many linked to pregnancies that were never planned or wanted.
✅Malnutrition worsens as unsupported hashtag#mothers struggle to meet their own needs and those of their children.
✅Mental illness, especially postpartum depression and anxiety, often goes unrecognized and untreated.
✅Vertical transmission of HIV increases when antenatal care is delayed or inaccessible.

This is not just a reproductive hashtag#health issue. It’s a mirror of hashtag#systemic inequities of who gets hashtag#information, who accesses care, and who gets to choose.
Reducing unintended pregnancies isn’t about control. It’s about dignity, equity, and survival.

We must invest in access to contraception, youth-friendly health services, and honest, culturally responsive education because no woman should face a lifetime of consequences for a moment she couldn’t control.

This is our call to hashtag#policymakers, hashtag#partners, and hashtag#communities: make choice, care, and dignity the standard, not the exception.
