Sebastian Strangio, Author and Journalist – Sebastian is a journalist focusing on Southeast Asia. Since 2008, he has written for leading publications including the New York Times, The Atlantic, Foreign Policy, and the Nikkei Asian Review. He is also the author of Hun Sen’s Cambodia.
Jane Perlez is the recent Beijing bureau chief of The New York Times. She has been a foreign correspondent for The Times in Europe, Africa and Southeast Asia. She was a Shorenstein Fellow at Harvard last fall where she produced the podcast: On the Trail of Xi Jinping. She is currently working on a multi-episode podcast on Nixon’s opening to China and the aftermath.
Brian Eyler is a Senior Fellow and Director of the Southeast Asia Program at the Stimson Center. He is an expert on transboundary issues in the Mekong region and specializes in China’s economic cooperation with Southeast Asia. He has conducted extensive research with stakeholders in the Mekong region and his first book, Last Days of the Mighty Mekong, was published by Zed Books in 2019.
Yun Sun is a Senior Fellow and Co-Director of the East Asia Program and Director of the China Program at the Stimson Center. Her expertise is in Chinese foreign policy, U.S.-China relations and China’s relations with neighboring countries and authoritarian regimes.
