This International Center for MultiGenerational Legacies of Trauma (ICMGLT) side event of the 2026 Commission of the Status of Women (CSW) NGO CSW 70: A Global Gathering for Gender Equality brings together an international panel of experts, advocates, and practitioners to examine violence against women as a persistent global crisis with deep multigenerational consequences. Originally convened in observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the conversation continues to explore current realities across regions and cultures. Panelists share lived experience, research, and community-based responses, addressing cultural context, systemic barriers, and paths toward repair. The discussion highlights both challenges and progress while continuing to examine how trauma is transmitted — and how prevention, justice, and healing can interrupt cycles of harm.

Attendees would enhance their experience of this side event by first watching the original webinar ahead of participating in the current one. https://icmglt.org/international-efforts-at-eliminating-multigenerational-violence-against-women-in-times-of-war-and-peace-webinar/
