              <text>It has been established that parents who experienced childhood abuse are at greater risk for negative outcomes in the relationship with their own children (Racine et al., 2018; Sauvé et al. 2021), including insecure and unresolved attachment classifications (Raby et al., 2017; Roisman et al., 2017). Early experiences in childhood provide an important foundation on which the child will build its future attachment representations (Bowlby, 1969). However, discontinuity of attachment classification between early childhood and late adolescence is linked to high-risk contexts and negative life events, such as abuse, parental depression, or a change in parental sensitivity (Fraley, 2002; Booth LaForce et al., 2014). A history of childhood abuse has been linked to the intergenerational transmission of insecure and disorganized attachment (Madigan et al., 2019) as well as later maladjusted parenting behaviors (Savage et al., 2019). Therefore, it is important to understand how individuals with histories of childhood abuse may build internalized scripts of these attachment experiences.</text>

              <text>For Indigenous populations, one of the most recognized acts of historical trauma has come from boarding schools. These institutions were established by federal and state governments to forcibly assimilate Indigenous children into foreign cultures through spiritual, physical, and sexual abuse and through the destruction of critical connections to land, family, and tribal community. This literature review focuses on the impact of one of the oldest orphanages, asylums, and Indigenous residential boarding schools in the United States. The paper shares perspectives on national and international parallels of residential schools, land, truth and reconciliation, social justice, and the reconnection of resiliency-based Indigenous Knowledge towards ancestral strength, reclamation, survivorship, and cultural continuance.</text>

              <text>Grief research among American Indian (AI) and Alaska Native (AN) people has been limited to studies on historical trauma and elevated mortality rates among AI/ANs. A lack of validated measures is one barrier to grief research with AI/ANs. Therefore, we conducted three studies to develop and validate a culturally congruent measure of grief. In Study 1, interviews were conducted with 12 AI reservation-based community members to understand perspectives on grief. In Study 2, AI/AN community members (n = 10) and professionals (n = 7) provided feedback on measure items adapted or developed in Study 1. In Study 3, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses using separate randomly selected samples from a web-based survey of 600 AI/ANs were conducted to identify the factor structure of the Complicated and Adaptive Grief Inventory for Native Americans (CAGI-NA). Findings suggest that the resulting 30-item CAGI-NA is valid, reliable, and suitable for use in research with AI/AN people.</text>

              <text>Our aim was to conduct an umbrella review of evidence from meta-analyses of observational studies investigating the link between sugar-sweetened beverage consumption and human health outcomes. Using predefined evidence classification criteria, we evaluated evidence from 47 meta-analyses encompassing 22,055,269 individuals. Overall, 79% of these analyses indicated direct associations between greater sugar-sweetened beverage consumption and higher risks of adverse health outcomes. Convincing evidence (class I) supported direct associations between sugar-sweetened beverage consumption and risks of depression, cardiovascular disease, nephrolithiasis, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and higher uric acid concentrations. Highly suggestive evidence (class II) supported associations with risks of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and dental caries.               <text>Breastfeeding rates in Vietnam, and globally, remain suboptimal. A major contributor to this is the aggressive marketing of commercial milk formulas (CMF), mainly through online media. The Vietnamese Government has implemented legal measures to limit CMF marketing, but these have been difficult to enforce, because of complex online environments. We aimed to quantify the extent and nature of online violations and contradictions in various Vietnamese laws related CMF marketing over 12 months in 2022. Using a cross-sectional study design, we used an artificial intelligence-enabled virtual violations detector (VIVID) to monitor official websites and social media pages of 25 breastmilk substitute (BMS) merchandise and distributors, every day for 12 months in 2022. Data were summarised descriptively. We detected more than 3000 online advertisements that violated or contradicted the intent of Vietnamese laws, involving almost 7000 violations of various articles within these laws (average 9.5 violations per day). More than 700 detections were related to CMF products being registered as “supplementary foods” or similar, thereby circumventing Vietnamese CMF marketing laws, because they are not registered as “BMS products. We demonstrate the need to strengthen the design, monitoring and enforcement of existing Vietnamese laws to eliminate mothers” exposure to the exploitative digital marketing of CMF. By turning a highly resource-intensive task into one that is, automated requiring substantially less resources, our study represents the most comprehensive in Vietnam and internationally on the extent and nature of the online marketing of BMS. VIVID can be applied worldwide to hold industry accountable for the inappropriate marketing of CMF.</text>

              <text>Support has been found for the intergenerational transmission of risk from maternal adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) to child outcomes. Less research has focused on longitudinal psychosocial pathways that account for this transmission. In the current study, path analysis examined mediating pathways (i.e., maternal adult attachment insecurity, romantic relationship functioning, and maternal anxiety and depression symptoms) in the association between maternal ACEs and internalizing and externalizing concerns among their child at eight years of age. Participants included 1,994 mother-child dyads from a prospective longitudinal cohort sample. Maternal ACEs were significantly associated directly with child internalizing concerns (β = .06, p = .025) and indirectly via both maternal attachment anxiety and avoidance, lower romantic relationship functioning, and depression, (β = .002, p = .006; β = .003, p = .005, respectively). Maternal ACEs were directly associated with child externalizing concerns (β = .06, p = .018) and indirectly via both maternal attachment anxiety and avoidance, lower romantic relationship functioning, and depression, (β = .001, p = .008; β = .002, p = .010, respectively). This study identified several maternal risk factors that have implications for downstream internalizing and externalizing concerns among their children.</text>

              <text>This Dissertation-in-Practice (DiP) addresses a problem of practice which is an urgent need for enhanced mental health supports at Alpine Prairie Middle School (APMS) within the Western Canadian School District (WCSD). Amidst resource and budgetary constraints, this study explores holistically informed strategies grounded in the principal's positionality and grounded by critical theory. This DiP focusses on transformative and distributed leadership approaches, considering the school as a complex adaptive system. A leadership framework integrates critical theory, transformative leadership, distributed leadership, and pragmatism to effectively lead the change process. The implementation plan includes a four-step change model: awakening, mobilization, acceleration, and institutionalization, tailored for APMS. This model aligns the organization with changes involving mental health literacy (MHL) and transformative social emotional learning (tSEL), managing the transition smoothly. Comprehensive communication and evaluation plans ensure successful integration of change strategies into the school's operations, supporting and improving students' mental health. Adopting a holistic approach, emphasizing equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization (EDID), this DiP describes a supportive and resilient environment where every student can thrive. This DiP also emphasizes the importance of a proactive stance on student mental health, the need for ongoing professional development for educators, and the value of involving the entire school community in mental health initiatives. By addressing these critical areas, the DiP seeks to create a more inclusive and supportive educational environment for all students at APMS. The findings may also inform future initiatives to improve mental health supports in middle schools.</text>

              <text>This journal article emanates from my original Dissertation-in-Practice (DiP) focusing on the integration of Indigenous culture and academics at Riverview High School, within the Prairie Lakes School District (both names are pseudonyms) in Manitoba, Canada. The article addresses the long-standing Problem of Practice (PoP) concerning the underachievement and lack of engagement among Indigenous students as evidenced by four-year graduation data released by the Manitoba government’s Ministry of Education and Early Childhood Learning. Utilizing a collaborative, community-based approach informed by Indigenous perspectives and change management principles, this article proposes a transformative framework. Key theoretical constructs, including “Two-Eyed Seeing” (Etuaptmumk), TribalCrit, and Deming’s PDSA cycles, are employed to analyze the PoP and guide the change process. The article explores my positionality as a Red River Métis educator, the importance of voice and equity, and the alignment with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. It details the problem posed, proposed solutions, communication strategies, and evaluation frameworks, culminating in a call for urgent and sustained action.</text>

              <text>This paper explores and provides context for resolving a problem of practice which identifies Rivertown District School Board’s (pseudonym) oppression of the Indigenous learning communities it serves. This paper identifies the gaps between the current state of Indigenous Education at Rivertown District School Board against the minimum global standards for Indigenous Education defined in the United Nations Declaration on the Right of Indigenous Peoples and draws further comparison to traditional Indigenous Education through Indigenous scholarship. The writer’s personal journey with Indigenous Knowledge constructs such as land-based knowledge, Seven Generations Teachings, Seven Sacred Grandfather Teachings, Mino-Bimaadiziwin, and Blood Memory are discussed to help Indigenous readers resolve their own inquiries. The writer reveals his individual and familial experiences with colonialism and racialization in order to shed light on the importance of self-advocacy and leveraging international Indigenous human rights policies. A unique Indigenous leadership approach described as a “Sweetgrassroots” leadership approach, which draws inspiration from the calming and balancing effects of the sacred circumboreal plant sweet grass, combined with the democratic, natural, critical, and feminist aspects of Indigenous leadership, is created to explore the problem of practice. Four solutions to address the problem of practice are proposed. As a result, a holistic plan is identified as the best solution which empowers Rivertown First Nation (pseudonym) students and the surrounding community to lead the reform of Indigenous Education in RDSB utilizing a “Sweetgrassroots” change framework, implementation plan, and knowledge mobilization plan.</text>
