No Hard Feelings (2020)

In this stunning, semi-autobiographical debut feature by “exciting new talent” Faraz Shariat, Parvis is a young and openly gay son of exiled Iranian parents who immerses himself in pop culture, fashion, clubbing, and casual internet sex dates as a means of escaping the boredom of his suburban German hometown. Caught shoplifting, he is ordered to perform community service in a refugee shelter where he meets Amon, a young Iranian man who has fled the country with his sister Banafshe. As the three become friends—and Parvis and Amon fall in love with each other—Parvis finds himself caught between the generation of immigrants before him, the newcomers, and the rest of German society.
