וְהָרוֹעַ נִרְאָה כֹה רָחוֹק בַּיָּמִים.

פַּעַם מִזְּמַן, אָז בְּיוֹם הַשּׁוֹאָה 

אֶת עוֹצְמַת הַכְּאֵב הַנּוֹרָא לֹא עִיכַּלְנוּ 

לֹא הָיָה בּוֹ שַׁבְרִיר יְצִירַת מִשְׁוָואָה 

לְחַיֵּי הַשִּׁגְרָה הַנּוֹרְמָלִים שֶׁלָּנוּ.

פַּעַם יָדַעְנוּ שֶׁשּׁוּב הַשּׁוֹאָה  

לֹא תִּקְרָה לְעוֹלָם, לֹא תִּזְקוֹף אֶת פָּנֶיהָ  

כִּי עַכְשָׁיו זֶה אַחֶרֶת – יֵשׁ כְּבַר מְדִינָה

שֶׁתָּגֵן עַל בְּנוֹתֶיהָ וְעַל תִינוֹקֵיהָ.

וְהַיּוֹם, הַשָּׁנָה, עֶרֶב יוֹם הַשּׁוֹאָה 

הוּא שׁוֹנֶה מִכּוּלָּם וּמַכֶּה בְּעוֹרְקֵינוּ  

כִּי הַפַּעַם נִדְקָרְנוּ בִּלְי שׁוּם הַתְרָאָה
