At the outset, the obvious should be stated. Tuesday’s terrorist attack at the West Bank settlement of Eli was a heinous and terrible act of murder and there is nothing that can justify it. Having said that, the following should also be stated. The aim of this column isn’t to justify or judge or interpret any of what’s happening at the moment. It’s doubtful that all the overwrought judgments and interpretations and justifications that we are being inundated with are really of any value.
