This International Center for the Study, Prevention and Treatment of Multigenerational Legacies of Trauma reparative justice webinar is held a day ahead of the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict (CSV) (June 19, 2026). Presenters will share their personal CSV experiences and their multidimensional aftermaths upon return from captivity and reflect on their meanings, working with survivors, and report and discuss recent data from Ukraine of stigma-associated barriers to sociocultural support, professional care, reporting and justice.

Speakers:
Roman Baklazhov
A volunteer, and a member of the Coordination Council on Support for Civilians Deprived of Personal Liberty as a Result of Armed Aggression Against Ukraine, Their Families, and Families of Persons Missing under Special Circumstances, under the Executive Committee of the Kherson City Council and a member of Rotary club. He is a torture survivor and witness of war crimes, he was detained for 54 days in the pretrial detention facility on Teploenerhetykiv Street, Kherson. Roman Baklazhov is an activist and is currently focused on helping civilian prisoners, such as himself. The work also concerns the development and legalisation of rights for civilian prisoners.

A Ukraine-based journalist whose reporting on global issues, conflict, human rights, and rape as a weapon of war has been featured in The New York Times, The Guardian, BBC News, and Al Jazeera English, among other outlets.
Prof. Lynn Lieberman Lawry MD, MSPH, MSc
Dr. Lieberman Lawry is a physician, epidemiologist, and biostatistician with over 30 years of experience in humanitarian aid, disaster response, development, and research. A Professor at the Uniformed Services University, she has led population-based studies in conflict settings worldwide on human rights, healthcare access, mental health, and conflict-related sexual violence. Her current work focuses on trauma system assessments in large-scale combat operations and war-related abuses in Ukraine.
Ivan Dmytryk, MD, PhD
A Ukrainian psychologist and psychotherapist, Co-founder of Molfa Hub — a mental health center for uniformed professionals. Dr. Dmytryk is head of the Research Laboratory for Trauma and Resilience Studies. He is also a President of the Association of Resource Psychology and Psychotherapy.
Dr. Kateryna Busol
A Ukrainian lawyer and head of the International Center for Transitional Justice Ukraine program, an Associate Professor at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and British Academy Research Fellow at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law, Dr. Kateryna Busol is a practicing lawyer and scholar working on conflict-related sexual violence, focusing on ensuring gender-competent responses to conflict-related male sexual violence in Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, and Ukraine’s transitional justice process.

A Clinical psychologist, traumatologist, victimologist and psychohistorian, Dr. Danieli is Founder, Executive Director and Senior Representative to the United Nations of the International Center for MultiGenerational Legacies of Trauma (ICMGLT); Director, Group Project for Holocaust Survivors and their Children and Past-President, International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies.
