The Season of Appreciation and Giving
We are reaching out to tell you about our work and request your support. We need your help so that the aching voices we hear do not become silent; until violence, abuse of power, discrimination, isolation, neglect and multigenerational trauma are no more.
The Center’s mission is to:
- Raise awareness of the universal importance and ubiquitous suffering incurred through multigenerational legacies of trauma;
- Prevent its destructive legacies from being perpetuated to succeeding generations;
- Devise principles and programs to promote resilience, treat and assist affected individuals, families, communities and nations.
Among our recent accomplishments:
- The Danieli Inventory of Multigenerational Legacies of Trauma(https://icmglt.org/danieli-inventory-of-multigenerational-legacies-of-trauma/) has been translated into over 13 languages and is now a global research tool for exploring the nature of various traumas (e.g., nuclear bombing and testing; climate change; indigenous and other genocides) and preventing their ongoing legacies.
- ICMGLT’s unique online library https://icmglt.org/database/ has proven an invaluable resource for clinicians, scholars, legal experts, policy makers, students and victim/survivors alike.
- Opening our webinar series, in November 2020 the Center helped organize a three-day International Summit on Domestic/Family Violence during the COVID-19 Era, drawing 1,000 participants from over 77 countries. His Holiness Pope Francis, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Rabbi Arthur Schneier and Konrad Sioui, Grand Chief of the Huron-Wendat Nation, were among the patriarchs who opened each day. UN High Commissioner Michelle Bachelet closed the deeply moving event.
- On December 10 (Human Rights Day) ICMGLT’s Founder received a certificate of appreciation for outstanding leadership for the advancement of Human Rights from Manhattan Borough President Gale A. Brewer, and the Human Rights Leader of the Year Award from the Arts4All foundation.
- Last but not least, we established the Center’s Repairer Awards.
The ICMGLT is sustained by your donations, big and small. You support will go directly to our services and programs. Our distinguished international experts (www.icmglt.org/about-us/) are all volunteers.Thank youDr Yael Danieli ICMGLT Founder and Director |
