The Season of Appreciation and Giving

Friends, (potential) supporters,

As we approach the end of 2022 at this season of appreciation and giving, we are reaching out to you to seek your support.

2022 has been an exceptional year. In the midst of core multigenerational existential challenges, it has also been a year of courage, resilience, perseverance, inclusion, support and, most importantly, a year when the consequences of violence and neglect in all their forms have continued to engage many more, in all generations, in genuine global discussions.

The International Center for MultiGeneration Legacy of Trauma (ICMGLT) has been a most active player in these necessary conversations, despite just celebrating our fourth anniversary as an organization.

Among other achievements:

ICMGLT’s unique digital Library contains worldwide multidisciplinary publications, many in their original language; our media section is flourishing, so is the special section on victims’ rights, rights of future generations and reparative justice.

Database – ICMGLT

An essential element of the ICMGLT’s work is the use by researchers worldwide of the Danieli inventory of Multigenerational Legacies of Trauma and its global comparative database. The Danieli Inventory is the first validated tool for assessing multigenerational trauma’s impacts. It is the global gold standard for for those studying and attempting to prevent the intergenerational effects of violence. The Inventory has been translated into and studied in 16 languages (with five more currently in progress).

While COVID-19 prevented us from organizing programs abroad and, in many instances, in person, all ICMGLT’s activities focused on international or country-specific intergenerational issues, and, in all initiatives, experts from around the world took part. In addition to the august speakers, these ICMGLT’s events brought together thousands of participants from over 80 countries, from diverse backgrounds including Government representatives, United Nations officials, civil society representatives, victim-survivors, and other related stakeholders.

Webinars – ICMGLT

The Center’s website provides services to its international constituency such as daily news from around the world on issues of concern to the world community and work of the United Nations, including Peace and Security, Health/Mental Health, Food Security, Human Rights, Humanitarian Aid, Gender, Age, Sustainable Development, Climate Action, Education, Terrorism, Justice and International Law.

Yes, the year is almost over.

However the quest must continue; we need your help so that the voices that were heard do not become silent, until all forms of violence, discrimination, isolation neglect and trauma are no more.

Specifically, we need your support to continue to:

1) Raise awareness of the universal importance and the ubiquitous suffering incurred through lifelong and multigenerational legacies of trauma

2) Conduct worldwide research on these important phenomena

3) Prevent destructive legacies from being perpetuated across generations

4) Advocate for the commitment to mitigate lifelong and multigenerational effects of trauma

5) Augment our ever-expanding multidisciplinary Library

The ICMGLT is sustained by your donations. You support our outreach, studies, teaching, and advocacy. Your donation will go directly to our services and programs. Our distinguished international experts (www.icmglt.org/about-us/) are all volunteers.

Gifts to the ICMGLT Annual Fund are appreciated at any level. Please help us meet the challenge by giving generously.

ICMGLT is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, tax number 83-2359098. In keeping with IRS guidelines, ICMGLT verifies that no goods or services have been provided in return for your donation.
