We can see how this starts with macroaggressions – such as misgendering of people like me and the flying of the St George flag to send the message to immigrants ‘this is our country’.

We can also see the (constructed) fear of differences with immigrants – they are portrayed as having a propensity to commit crimes, particularly sexual crimes.

We can already see the shunning of people like me, the construction of fear, hatred and the dehumanisation of people like me and immigrants.

It is Reform UK’s objective to send back all immigrants, even those with indefinite leave to remain here.

Likewise, I have been excluded from work and educational opportunities.

I continue to experience not only employment and educational discrimination, but discrimination seeking help from the social services, police, domestic abuse charities and others.

We have already seen anti-immigrant protests constructed as people’s expression of ‘genuine fears’ by the far right. How much longer before protests turn violent against the immigrants. Arguably, we are seeing the start of it now.

And from there it is just a short step to seeing the murder of these sub-humans as no big deal, perhaps even doing society a favour/service.
