Especially if it’s draining your health.
Most people are taught to chase two things in life:
Money and status.
For a while, that works. It gives us a foundation to build bigger and better things.
But there are four types of wealth that shape how fulfilled your life actually feels.
Ignore the other two, and the cost shows up later on:
💰 Financial Wealth:
↳ This gives us security, options and peace of mind.
↳ But on its own, it’s not enough.
How to build it:
→ Spend less than you earn and invest the difference consistently.
→ Create multiple income streams so you’re not dependent on one source.
→ Understand that money is a tool, not the goal.
🎖 Social Wealth:
↳ This opens doors and creates opportunities.
↳ Too much focus here damages deep, personal connections.
How to build it:
→ Follow through on what you say you’ll do.
→ Build real relationships, not just transactional ones.
→ Remember that your reputation is built over time.
🕰 Time Wealth:
↳ This gives you control over how you live your life.
↳ Most people realize this is important way too late.
How to build it:
→ Protect your calendar like you protect your money.
→ Say no to things that drain your time and energy.
→ Design your work so you don’t have to be “on” 24/7.
💪 Physical Wealth:
↳ Without this, all other wealth becomes meaningless.
↳ You can’t enjoy the rest of your life if your body is breaking down.
How to build it:
→ Move your body consistently.
→ Prioritise getting 7-8 hours of sleep every night.
→ Manage your stress by taking regular breaks.
Many jobs will offer financial wealth and status but often drain your freedom and health.
That isn’t a trade worth taking.
A long, fulfilling life has all four types of wealth.
If you’re looking for a role, keep them in the back of your mind.
And if you’re building a business,
look after your own wealth and build opportunities for your team to protect theirs.
Which type of wealth are you prioritising right now?
